Dropped off my Defender yesterday at the dealer for my last service under the factory warranty. Went through the snowstorm without any issues. Defender was effortless and confidence-inspiring. Got over 12" of snow and the Defender made light work of it.

I installed the roof cross bars and illuminated treadplates today. Both were quite easy, and I’ll write up a step-by-step installation guide w/ pictures for the treadplates tomorrow.

How do you like the HSX bumper cover, I just got my Defender and am considering one. Did you get the satin black?

Traded in my P300 for a V8 yesterday, and installed the Utility Side Rails from Powerful UK. I mainly added this so I could install the Gear carrier once my roof rails come in this weekend without putting holes in the original painted trim.

Take aways:
  • They are very easy to install; however, I don't love how the smaller screws are anchored in to the car - it doesn't feel very secure and you can't get them tight to the car.
  • I wish they supplied black screws with the black version of the rail - easy enough fix though.
  • The anodized aluminum is VERY easy to scratch. I tried adding one of the supplied tie down anchors, and scratched the black off of it by just barely even touching. If you go with th eblack version just be prepared for it to be covered in scratches if you use it at all
Side note: LOVE the V8 compared to the P300

Default 3rd row cup holders. Be gone!

Finally rid myself of these two annoying appendages after seeing an inspirational post on FB.

I’m not sure why I waited so long

I had half removed one about a month into ownership. They’re plastic welded on so gave up after ripping one half off.

Simply two pieces held together with a Torx 20.

Two plastic welds on each piece. 4 per side.

My ski poles now fit with greater ease.

Huzzah!

I’ll tidy things up with a Dremel and P-Tex sticks at some point.

Nice! Btw I was laughing at the picture of the middle finger to the cups. That was hilarious.

Installed a console refrigerator purchased from Hunters Prestige in the UK. Excellent instructions (YouTube video) provided the guidance and expertise to allow me to install it myself. Took about 3 hours from start to finish. Not difficult but lifting the console frame out was a bit of a pain. Someone with experience would probably be able to complete it in 45 minutes. I'm still trying to get my 90 spec'ed the way I wanted it when I ordered it. Now if I can find a good tutorial on ambient lighting retrofitting... Also added a pair of the Seatbelt retaining clips made by Simon at PowerfulUK. They make grading the seatbelt much easier. And finally, added Lamin-X yellow protective film over the foglights to help see when it's snowing.
