Default 1999 D1 Rescue

Should have started here. 1999 Discovery 1 SD with leather seats, Power seats dual sunroofs, 4.0 motor and factory Alarm, AM/FM Cassette with CD changer under the seat...

so far I drove this home after buying it not running. Had 27 error codes in computer, alarm was messed up, no power steering, shifter handle missing, Rear windows not working, inside mirror had a piece of a mirror glued over it, only one key, ignition switch chewed up. low left rear tire, well, the list goes on.... However, only 139K miles on it and body lookes pretty good for an old truck!
Cleared the codes and reset alarm with the key, and it started up! I added fluid to the power steering and air to the tire, and drove it home.
Found quite a few things missing or just plain messed up and been tackling them as I can.

Got radio reset and it seems to be working good!
found shifter handle and reassembled it,
replaced window board and rear windows work, drivers side rear needs a regulator(?) motor runs but window doesn't move.
Found alarm issues were caused by a broken switch under the hood, disconnected it
Got a second ignition key, still needs some attention,
found cooling system doesn't hold pressure, replaced cap and soon replace upper hose.
removed inside mirror, and tore the mount off the windshield, along with a chunk of glass. I see a new windshield in the future.. New D2 mirror on hand waiting to rewire and install
got front axle dust caps that were missing and installed them
replaced 10 amp fuse for horn/flashers with correct 30 amp one. Probably disconnected to silence alarm
Tidyed up the pass side electrical and installed the glove box
fixed mount for headlight

That's all I can think of right now, but the work continues. Keep in mind I am working outside, no driveway or garage (or roof) and it is in Minnesota.

Picture before I picked it up and quit running

I give you lots of cred for messing around outside in the balmy arctic air, nothing like peeling dry skin off knuckles in the cold.

Hay fever doesn't act up in cold weather
Today it was new coolant and new hoses.
Also peeked at the dash to see what it needs to be re-attached.

I did all this in the open air (plus a zillion other things) and it was fine

Very impressive!
Ihscouts knows I live in Minnesota and we have been lucky this winter with only a few weeks of below zero temps. Yesterday we had snow coming down and today it got up to around 40 degrees.

Not always fun in the outside, but not terrible either as long as it is dry.

Had a few leftover headlight parts so I'm good there. As for the dryness, now starting to deal with the ground getting soft and sinking..
