I'm new to the forums and new to LR all together. Had a great time building a 100 series that lasted me over 6 years and had 301k on the speedo until a buddy of mine convinced me to sell it to him. Though seemingly lost without an off-road toy, I was certain what I was gonna build next, I've always had love for the old discos and frankly, love how quirky and misbehaved they can be. I knew this is what I wanted to throw my wallet at. So I picked up the below Disco 2, bone stock one owner with only 75k miles. I enjoyed the hell out of it stock and for a second thought about preserving it and making it a reasonable cheap daily driver. However, dumber heads prevailed and I started rigging this thing up. More to come... Any suggestions lemme know Stock day 1 3\" terrafirma 32" BFG Ko2
First up is a 3" terrafirma lift (lucky 8)
Tom woods custom drive shaft (lucky 8)
BFG Ko2 tires 275/65/18 (32ish range)
Install was done by North Texas British awesome dudes who do great work. Really helped me understand these things...
Swap out the transfer case for one with center diff lock capabilites, the difference off road is substantial. 99-01 (but didn't have shifter to activate, LR thought traction control would be enough asistance) and 04's have the transfer case and shifter assembly you need (LR decided to add CDL).
Great looking rover so far, keep up the good work.
