@zski128 as far as I know they are the only style of load bars Front Runner sells. They are nice and wide. They do have low profile racks though.

Tent delivery is delayed until late next week, or early the week after. So test load outs will start shortly, it is convenient I have to clear the garage anyway

 

Looked again and it was the rack that had two height options not the load bars. Glad to see those are not too high off the roof. Considering them versus a full rack.

 

@zski128 there is about 2.5 to 2.25 inches between the bottom of the rack and the roof. 4 bars hold the full rack so that should hold a 4 man tent without issue.

Well I now have a roof top tent, I have to build the mounting brackets as my roof bars are very wide. Pictures forth coming.

Inline thermostat has arrived, dashboard repair kit and standard black low temp thermostat have also arrived.

Rad should be here next week then I can rebuild the basics of the cooling system.

Fuse box will be here as well and I can get my oil pressure gauge setup so I can check that

 

Well got the cooling system sorted out, and replaced the purge valve. But for the best part the RTT is up.

My mounting is on 2 Fronter Runner Load bars, plus when it get's here a 2 x 1.5 steel square tube. The tent is 95 lbs and I am 195, so 3 supports are better than 2 to spread the load. Currently I have 2 1x1 steel tubes stacked to hold the front up.
The tent has to scoot forward about 2 inches so I can tie into round roof rack, the bolt just ahead of the temp steel.

@The Deputy I went around on it too, last year's 4 day trips and big Casino win, just before covid shut them down, made the decision pretty easy. With me and 4 days of kit in the back things were just a little tight. Funny when I was 2, I would l have had a ton of room. But now I like my comfort.

Of course now I have to organize the interior again

 

Looks great! I love the idea of them but I think the best solution for me is to have a bigger RTT on a small trailer. I have 3 dogs plus wife and there isn't much interior room for more than a weekend trip. Plus I can unhook trailer and leave at camp to go wheeling without the added weight on top. Not sure there's a perfect solution but 95lbs and traveling solo is a great one for on the roof!!

 

@whowa004 The trailer mount for RTT is really popular up here. Both on home built trailers and custom off road trailers. The old military M101's are really popular for home brewed,but damm they are expensive up here.
