They are adjustable
Just cutting some 22ga to make less adjustment. Also I have extra room in the covers, as I have to add a spacer there.
But no I don't "need" them

5/16 hd chrome molly push rods going in. head has to be bored/drilled to accept

Gotta get it completed first, then the calculating done by 5.0 for new custom. that will have to be one of the very last things....... of course I will probably end up producing a whopping 3 extra horsepower........in which case, I will save myself the embarrassment and just stick with these

Keep in mind that shimming the pedestals makes the rockers operate at more of an angle so the geometry changes which in turn affects the loads and wear points at the tips of the rockers, especially where the pushrods ride in the pockets. Probably not an issue with minor shimming and a mild cam but it's something to be aware of.

more bits and pieces rolling in.
block, 1 head, crank, a couple of pistons.
block looks good, hats and new freeze plugs.
head looks good. the shop did a nice job fitting the bigger valves and springs. port and polish looks decent. a couple of places on the exhaust side, I will probably hit again (couple of little boogers, no big deal). so far so good. hopefully I will get some more boxes tomorrow.
off to find some friggin 3/8 bolts. I have every length in the world, except what I need to put this thing on the stand
