If anyone has any ideas on a mechanism to lift the tent rack awning setup, I'm all ears. Needs to be able to operated by one guy.

Davis, that is a cool setup. I wonder how it would work with my side shelf/box fenders?

Got the rear view drawn up today, while I was on a conference call.

Not sure about the spare tire. First thought is underneath it's easy but ground clearance could be a issue. The other idea I had was a basic swing-away carrier.

Oh yeah, that design would definitely interfere with side boxes. When I had my RTT on a harbor freight trailer, I used a Trac Rac ladder rack from Lowes. The tent wound up being right at 5 ft high but way under the roof of my 4Runner.

that's the hard part, I don't want to engineer some crazy solution though when good somewhat easy solutions are there in front of me that someone else did the leg work on

10-4. I agree with that sentiment. Dig around over here at Expedition Portal. You may find some you can replicate

Thanks been digging through Ih8mud a bit as well.

I like the electric actuators as that is pretty straight forward but seems sort of delicate since they will be exposed to the elements.

I was kicking around camper scissor jacks as they are a bit more robust and I could just alternate back and forth using my cordless impact to lift it up

I can't draw circles either and the pic is not much better.... BUT that would be a kicka$$ wheel for this rig.

OR just scrap the project and build , but remember you are on overwatch from now on.
That thing is insane >
