Camp Trailer with a Roof Top Tent (RTT) build thread
Some events that really isn't a option, and some it is a option but you really miss out on the social aspect and interaction with other Rover folks.
Other events it is the best possible choice to stay my happy butt at a hotel like Winter Romp

Well I drug it around for 2000 miles behind the white LR3 and it performed flawlessly. It definitely worked out in fine fashion to haul presents and furniture back from Indiana.

So I ordered a pair of matching rims for the trailer. I was excited to find a great deal on a pair of rims on Ebay. The shipping was faster than I ever expected so I got a chance to start looking at how it will work out.
So I was really happy with how it was going to look. Remember I'm adding about 12" off the back and the sides will be 24" high.
After about 10 minutes of happy the problem with this hit me.
Backspacing....
There is only about 4 5/8" spacing between the hub face and frame. Fenders don't matter as they are getting cut off and rebuilt. The rim backspacing is closer to 6 3/4".
That leaves the rim about 2" into the frame, which obviously doesn't work.
So I am not sure that adapters/spacers will be the answer. I may have to get a wider axle.

Looking forward to see the transition to your final (fluid) results. Hadn't looked at the camp trailer option prior to this discussion and liking the benefits the more I see. Thanks.

A new 1500 lbs axle from redneck trailer supply will run you about $200. You will need to provide them with the spring center and hub face to hub face measurement that you will need. Check the bolt pattern on those wheels too. You my wind up having to use wheel adapters and those will affect hub face measurements.
I oddly enough sent redneck trailer supply a email this afternoon checking on a axle with the measurements I need with the LR bolt pattern.
I think that is the best solution, worst case is wider axle and thin adapters.
Number9 glad I could offer an alternative idea.
