Fishing seems exciting but pretty unstable.

Yes the fishing industry is one hell of a occupation and Im proud to be part of it but you are right that its unstable at times. Win some and lose some. One thing I love about it aside from the epic landscapes is the hard work ethic and discipline that is instilled into you. New guys go up there thinking they are hot shots only to be crushed to the breaking point. If the occupation does not kill you, it will make a man out of you. Some folks really lost their mind up there and I think I already mentioned the stabbing incident that happened on my ship and forced us to make a early run back to port to offload some idiots into the slammer! Few angry tired folks can ruin it for everyone else and effect how much less money everyone else earns. The longer the ship is out out sea the less money we are making so in a idea scenario we get out there and fish for 10 days and quickly get back to port and make a speedy offload with 26 hours. Thats how you make good money. But when the trips turn into 15-19 days at sea and 48 hours to offload everyone loses money fast.

I will continue to work up there though Im going to stay on land for now on I think. But I do need to start thinking about a backup plan and learning new skills in another industry. Cant put all my eggs in one basket. Ive been lucky for the most part so far and my time with the fishing fleets have allowed me to get as far as I have with my D2 build. But gotta start thinking about the big picture. Future family. Getting a small house and a piece of land. If your gone all year for work your girl is probably gonna get bored and leave ya after she takes all your hard earned $$$$...

I really love Rovers and enjoy working on them. I have built up a reasonable tool collection and now have my eyes on the auto mechanics industry, preferably Land Rover. But not indi shops around my area are willing to train you. They want new employees with years of experience and their own tools. Ive done many mechanical things on my truck but working on your truck at home does not count as official experience. Im dam good at shipping/receiving and warehouse work and can even drive a forklift but most warehouses pay less than $12 per hour and some have frequent layoffs. Im losing faith in the job market. More so with the threat of computerized robots taking over our jobs and 3d printing machines that eliminate manufacturing plants and assembly workers....

Fiseh Ill get back to you on the codes tomorrow. Not to worried about it right this minute though.

Im however thinking about the wing mirrors. I wish they were... ... bigger and more masculine. Broke the driver side mirror during Winter Romp 2015 and have to decide on weather I wanna pay $267.50 for a new assembly (hate used ****) or spend a fraction of that price on a pair of bigger truck mirrors or even say perhaps a pair of Defender mirrors. Something bigger and more practical but still stock clean look. hmmmmmmmm (Insert Casino Royale theme)

Check engine codes are as follows: P0141, P0161 and P0160.

Some notes: All 4 02 sensors are new. Half way back muffler and tail pipe end muffler are new. Spark plugs and ignition wires are new. The secondary air injection vacuum reservoir is new. The brake booster servo assembly is new.

Im hoping that since a good chunk of the hardware under the hood is new that it will be easier to track down the faults causing these codes. Any suggestions on where I should start would be appreciated.

Unrelated to the codes, out of curiosity my mechanic decided to pull apart the old block and found that every bearing was scored or extremely worn. He said it was a good choice to swap the block when I did. This is what he found:

First, its a brand new $$$$$$$$ engine. I'd be a little worried or at least concerned what all these codes were.
Second, the mirrors on these trucks are stupid easy to replace. Mirrors aren't a wear item so a used one should not be an issue.
Third, I have no idea what all those codes mean. How about a description of what they are???

How many miles do you have on the new engine? What's the MIL status? Have you tried clearing the codes to see which ones come back?

Will disconnecting the engine control module create any issues after I reconnect it? Will a bunch of new codes set off or will the system have to be re-synchronized? I just want to look at the pins on it to make sure everything is connected and theres no physical signs of corrosion or debris. I dont have the device needed to check amperage or anything like that however.

Working on getting the sensors checked out. They are new from Rovers North. One of the new ones was actually bad so RN sent another one. Could be another bad sensor.
