Operation Magpie.
Was looking at the plunger on my gas door solenoid (instead of reading a book as suggested...lol.) and it comes out about the same distance.
Had issues with my door popping open, but it was the plastic V shaped piece on the door. It looses its ability to grab the solenoid plunger pin, because the square guide that fits through the door itself gets worn. I just popped mine off and JB welded, adding weld to worn area and forming it with a knife. It has worked great for months now. You probably could find one at the junkyard, too.

The catch in the door seems to be in good shape, I think the solinoid pin has/was probably pushed in for a good bit of time
i swapped in the “new” body vent yesterday which was fairly easy.

I messed with solenoid by pushing in and pulling out. I also bent bracket on fuel door with clip out towards solenoid just a little bit and now it latches better..
To me land rovers seem like a vehicle that needs constant tinkering and monitoring. I love my vehicle, but I will always have multiple check lists in my head every time I get in, operate, or are just around vehicle...Sorry to ramble off lol
I think that is why I love LRs so much — always something to do
My previous car was a ‘12 Volvo S60 and it was a great car.. but so damn boring. Fast, yes. Good MPG, yes. Looked good, yes. But boring as f-ck otherwise. I’m glad I got rid of it for MagPie

Hmm.. Crawled under the truck to check on something -- the t-case defo has a leak of some kind. I had wiped down the cross member right under it and there is fluid on it again.
This was "pre" wipe down of cross member

It looks like to me that this plate (?) is the culprit -- i believe the gasket is a liquid one since i can sorta peel the squeeze out off the sides of the joint

I guess i'll have to redo this when i get back from my road trip next week..
