I've seen the window tinting guy's spray some kind of soapy solution to the inside of the window and place black plastic trash bag over the old film and leave it in the sun for an hour this causes the old tint to sweat and then it peels off easily and cleanly as the glue residue is soft. Then just get a fresh razor and clean off the remaining glue.

It's is a sexy 4x4.
No sunroof. I'm glad. *edit. Ugh yes it does have one. Wtf am I thinking. Too many meds
Work was halted for the last 2 weeks not only because of my arm but because I didn't have the title for it yet. The seller had to mail it to me due to being "misplaced " when we made the deal. Christ this truck has been a test of my patience.
I didn't want to do any major work yet before I had the title in hand. So now that I have it in good.
My plans are very simple. I want a clean. Decent truck that can handle my off road and on road trips. I will keep this 2 inch lift for now to see if it can handle the off roading I do. I like the way it sits as is.
I'm going to do a rear tire carrier eventually. I'm deciding on a roof rack now. I'm gonna want a winch too. It's already set up with two batteries and a mean green alternator.

I know all about the meds, best I've felt in 40 years. I'd bet a buck you have a 40th Anniversary, nostalgic..... The only issue I read about was fuel slosh down the rear quarter on right leaners because the filler neck is low, raised on later Rangies for that reason.
I was kinda surprised you picked such an early Rover but it looks good, better than I'd expect for something nearly 30 years old. Even the interior is not bad, it shows potential. Heckuva find really and it has goodies.

Since I can't get it running at the moment I decided to continue cleaning it. This is pretty much how the entire truck is. Sand/crud in every crack.
I'm a little insane and I get stupid with cleaning this kind of stuff. Even though this is an on/off road vehicle there is no reason it has to be gross inside. I pulled the ac vents out. Pulled all the bezels and switches out I could. I cleaned everything with soap and water followed by protectent. I used an army of picks, detail brushes, and a small flat head screwdriver wrapped in a rag. Or used it as a chisel to knock away 30 year old sodain the cracks. Yuk.
It came out pretty good. All it took was a couple hours and a lot of small detail work. I will wait for the Soul Glow to dry a bit then buff it out for a more satin shine. I'm not into glossy dash boards. It drives me nuts that some of the components have aged into different colors. Oh well I'll keep looking for parts.
