Tablet is gps, mp3 player etc. Works great, it's not that expensive and the maps are always up to date. You can save the google maps now to for offline work.

Well today the 110 left me stranded at the office, the starter died.

Gotcha. I might have to give that weather stripping a try myself. Funny you say that about your starter dying cause yesterday during work the facility president came up to me with a smirk on his face..... he said his starter died recently so he had to replace it. Must be a Series thing! I dont know which Series his is but. Thats cool about saving maps on the tablet, i used to have a android tablet a couple years ago, always had to have internet connection to view maps so i can see how that would come in handle.

Land Rover thing I would guess since I don't have a series truck.

Laid on my back in the parking lot with a nice view of Lake Michigan, 26 degrees 25mph wind gusts and it started snowing to top it off.

Got it done in about 3 hours with breaks to get feeling back in my hands. I removed however the original starter. That thing was huge compared to the newer style high torque units. Was a huge pain to get the starter wiggled out of there, the new one that is about half it's size slide right in.

Starts right up now. So all in all a good day.

Got my over head terrafirma console installed and finally a radio. Unfortunately I noticed that the water pump is leaking coolant....

Well when it rains it pours. Along with the water pump it looks like the front diff is in the process of eating itself. Over the last 2 days I had noticed a vibe and a rumbling coming from the front of the 110. So of course I figured it was U-joints got under there and looked and they are solid. I noticed there was a lot of slop on the front diff when turning the shaft by hand. So I pulled the drain plug and out poured a really metallic version of diff lube. So I'm going to be pulling a spare front diff out of the old RRC parts truck and swapping it in.

Need to get the water pump ordered. I was also debating a new fan and clutch but I think instead I'm going to install a thermostat controlled electric fan along with a manual over ride.

What year is the RRC? Around 1993 they switched to 24 splines axle shafts.

It's a 1991, it was my first Land Rover and the basis for my infection of Landroveritis. I've been pillaging it for awhile now lol. Definitely a 10 spline truck in the front. I did the 24 spline conversion.

If I had the extra cash and the wife wouldn't kill me I'd put one of these in instead.

Man I suck at remembering to update this thread. The 110 has been Soldering along pretty well. The water pump turned out to be fine just a pin hole leak in a heater hose.

The 110 finally got to live up to one of the reasons I bought it. A family camping trip to The Wilds and a bit of off road fun.
