These look great! What did you use to refinish them? I need to do my 03's too...
Also interested in the electric fan conversion when you get there and how it runs/ cools during wheeling. I'm thinking of doing the same to mine- free's up power and SHOULD be better off road since the fan's will run potentially all the time while slow crawling... anything we can do to keep these motors cool prevents the (third) head gasket repair bill on what's supposed to be a bullet proof sleeved new engine (hahahahahaha! whatever Atlantic British- whatever). I'm also on my 5th power steering pump- and the one that my local shop just installed is already leaking again- so I'm researching alternatives that actually work (GM etc). May have to fabricate but I don't care at this point- so much in these go bad repeatedly- but I love the truck- just have to come up with real alternatives instead of Land Rover junk.

Two drawbacks on the electric fan... 1: you get it wet and it could fail... 2: You lose your alternator you can't turn off the fan to save battery and it sucks the juice fast. You'll have about 20 minutes to get to help if you are off the grid, assuming it's daylight and not raining.

Otherwise it works exactly the same as stock temperature wise, no mpg improvement, possibly 1 or 2 extra hp.

I'm planning to switch back to stock fan setup after having the alternator go out and discovering number 2.

The fan on the front of your engine which the E fan replaces does actually run all the time. You may be thinking of the AC condenser fan behind the grill that does not run all the time. Two different things.

Sounds like the inline thermostat mod is the best way to keep er cool.
