Heck yeah. Glad to see its going.

Some blow by is expected on older motors like these. I believe sometimes there is an oil passage at part of the head gasket that commonly goes and causes this behavior.

Keep running it once a week at least, get some good fuel in and maybe some of that lucas diesel treatment

Some things to maybe do at some point
>oil change
>fuel filter change
>air filter change
>check the turbo impeller for any play

If you get too much blow by, just keep an eye on oil level, too much consumption means you either have a terrible cyclone/breather device or it is time for a new headgasket

Just happened to someone on d source, excessive oil consumption got bad (needed quarts of oil daily), then ran away (ran off its oil), guy barely stalled it, and had to have the HG replaced as a hole had developed between a cylinder (usually rearmost) and the oil passage near it.

This may or may not be less likely on a 2.5 TD

Well I gave her back to my friend the day before xmas, He just called and said the engine has thrown a rod. He had not driven it more then 100 miles. So I guess I am back to working on it again. Way to much fun. I just started another post on what I am going to need to do to get it going again. looks like maybe a 200 tdi. he wants to stay Diesel

I would step up to the 200 tdi, and ditch the 19J. It has already shown you what it's good at. Ejecting pistons
