Defender steering groan turning left at low speed
Hey all,
So as my title says, I have a problem with steering. When I turn left at low or no speed, I get a groan.
Here's a little video https://www.dropbox.com/s/cmj3px55e5..._1993.mp4?dl=0
It only happens when I turn left. Only when at low or no speed. Its more likely to happen the first time... what I mean is when I get in, if I turn left right away it will happen every time, but if I am in a car park going left and right, it doesn't happen on every left turn.
i have checked or replaced
I have play in the steering linkage through the engine bay but I think that is normal on a Defender isn't it?
My adjustment bolt on the top of the box is jammed up with the locking nut but I don't think that would affect a left turn only noise.
So my last thought is that its something in the steering box and it needs a rebuild. Thoughts anyone?
