Default Where to find used defender's in Europe

Hello, first off, a little about myself; I'm currently living in Italy for another 2 years. I've seen a couple of these older model Land Rover Defender 90's around and I really like them. When my time is up here in Italy, I'd like to take one of these back to the United States with me. According to all that I've read, importing one 25 years or older should be a really easy process. So that being said, I'm on the hunt for a diesel powered 1989 or older defender 90 somewhere here in Europe. In the states, I'd probably cruise craigslist or the local papers. However, here in Europe things are a little different. I haven't the first clue where to look for one of these. I'd prefer to find one online with pictures. Do any of you have an experience with this? If so, please help me out.

actually do yourself a favor, look at prices of imports and where is the cheapest port. For one you have to buy the vehicle from the mainland Europe. Best thing is to by one with a good body. Then you can buy a good engine and transmission assembly if need be that is newer say 3.0 or a newer diesel engine. Check with the brits on swapping the parts. That way you can have a great engine in a decent vehicle. Pull the old engine and sell it on craigslist. pull the engine and transmission and clean the crap out of the vehicle. Its a requirement.
oh and if the price is too good to be true its stolen. Careful it may not make it to the states if they find double vins anywhere.
