Sweet, let us know how it goes...and if you don't mind, let us know exactly what wire and connectors you use, and how long of a wire. (I'm new to wiring, splicing, connectors, etc) Good luck. I hope to do this very soon.

 

First I took off the glove box; two screws

Take the screws off

Take off the glove box; the spring things on the side compress

Now you should see this; the connector you want is the bottom, cut the WHITE/PINK wire, which I already did


Now this is where I get lost.. and I believe where my failure began..

I took that wire, which is in my hand and not the wire that is still attached to the connector, and wired it to the WHITE/GREEN wire on the bottom after taking off the kick panel near the big circle thing. I reinserted the first connector into the ECU and the second connector back with it's mate . I did not take pictures, sorry it slipped my mind past this point because stripping and everything in such a tight space makes you sweat..and moody.. I'll do it tomorrow! But any idea why I messed up?

The wire I used was speaker wire. I twisted both + and - together at both ends and used them as a single wire.. yeah now that I read what I just typed that was probably stupid.. ayayayay..

 

Okay well I got a different splice and spliced the Green/White wire to a 10g wire, and that connected to the wire cut from the ECU. I checked (green/white wire) for continuity from the connector terminal, and touched the other end to the 10g/ (white/pink) wire and it has continuity. I turned on Claire, and still no go. So this bypass seems to be a bust for me..

 

Man, leave that bypass junk alone.

Restore the wire you cut.

Slide the circuit board out of the ECU Housing. Reflow all the solder joints making them nice and shiny.

Put the circuit board back in the housing, attach connector.

Push rear window button to verify operation.

Reassemble.

I saw another thread where someone did the bypass and everytime he rolled the rear windows down, the electric fans for AC/radiator cooling would come on. Really now.

Isn't fixing the ECU solder joints much safer and easier?
