Default 1995 disco was runing then slowly died....

my prize possession, my 1195 landrover was running at idle just fine while I was bleeding the brakes after a master cylinder replacement. all of the sudden it conked out. I got back in and when I tried to start it struggled to start but it did then it conked out again. It did that a few times and then would not start again. I thought it might be the mass air flow, but I unplugged that and it started up, then I got back in and I could not start again. My mechanic said he could not figure it out and thought it was electrical. please help if you can.

I would check my battery voltage and alternator and clean the battery terminals.

they are all good and new. it will try to start but can not turnover. the fuel pump is new and working. it was idling while I was bleeding the brakes. then all of a sudden it sputters out. I tried to restart it but it struggled and then started I keep my foot on the gas it kept running the min. I took my foot off the gas and it sputter out again. then would not restart.. my mechanic thought it was electrical, I am going to try a new idler valve. i had put in a new one two years ago but thought maybe that is what it might be. I just spent 3000 on having the engine and brake redone. she was running great.

check your fuel pressure at the valve on the fuel rail....it should be in the 30-35 psi reading,

How is the coil? If it died and won't start at all, that is a place to look.

Disconnect a HT wire and check for spark.
