1995 Discovery 1 on a tow dolley
Has anyone towed a Discovery on a tow dolley yet? Front wheels secured on the dolley.
Any more precautions than undoing the propeller shaft at the rear differential and tying it out of the way?

In fact did just that, lying under the truck and contemplating where on the rear frame to bind up the propeller shaft.Guess what, Fish... Remember I still have no spark...
When I had hauled her in and wanted to back her off the dolley using the starter motor in reverse gear after having refitted the propshaft - no power to the starter. Battery is perfectly good. A new failure.
Now can that only be the impact switch, or the immobilizer thought I was stealing my already sparkless, dead truck?
To Fish:
My first thought was that because the vehicle had been towed with the rear wheels turning (and the transfer case/gearbox not), that maybe the immobilizer system sensed it as a reason to immobilize, but that would be really silly, even for Landrover.
The thot plickens...

I towed my 95 with my 2000 using a car dolly....380 miles ........unhook the rear drive shaft, go slow.....stopping your vehicle while being pushed by one that weighs as much ....sucks!
Replaced the propeller shaft and suddenly NO power to the starter. It does not even give an indication that it receives the current, as if there was no such circuit.
