Default 1997 Disco 1 Switch the driving lights, and the headlights turn off. Help!

When I turn the switch the driving lights/internal lights (dash etc.) turn on, but then I turn the switch again and all the driving etc. lights turn off, and the headlights turn on.

What could this be any ideas?

Bad stalk switch, in that the last position should allow head lights and interior lights. Kinda tough driving with a flashlight.

Yes, and the driving lights are also off, so it'd be easy for someone to ram into the back of the car at night.

The stalk switch is the switch connected to the steering column?

How hard are those to replace?

You have to turn wheel 90 degrees to access the screws.

Any temporary fixes? -I wanted to use the truck this weekend, but won't be able to get the parts to fix it properly until Monday at least.
