Default 1999 d1 no start/no crank possible alarm issue?

99 d1 no crank. The red LED in the instrument cluster flashes very fast until the door is opened then it stays on steady. Idiot lights come on but it won't crank over. I don't have a factory key fob. Just an aftermarket fob with remote start. I was thinking about removing the remote start to rule that out as an issue. The central locking system still works in the drivers door. I've searched and tried the many threads about a lock and unlock sequence using the key in the drivers door, but none seem to work, or seem to communicate with the body computer or have much effect on the LED. Battery is good but when all this started I did have a loose connection. There is no spider in the center of the dash I think this just has to do with the factory alarm computer, LED. The aftermarket system still locks and unlocks all the doors and the horn sounds each time. Are there any other options than a $250 tow to the dealer and then let them start diag-ing a no start condition? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Open hood. close all the doors.. Disconnect hood switch.. Then disconnect and re-connect the battery..

See if it comes back to life... Might wait half an hour with the battery disconnected if you've got the time...

If you have a body computer module, then you don't have a D1, you have a D2.
