FishEH--- BOOM. Thanks for seeing what I for some reason could not. Also looks like the PO(S) welded on ears to the draglink instead of using a U-bolt mount, so I'm gonna have to rotate the DL to line the damper mount up with the new landing spot of the frame bracket. Here I was already diggin through the drop bin for some 2x1/4" angle to weld up a new mount.

Fish- do you work at Lucky8? Got rickrolled by your sig and was wondering.

Thanks a ton!

PO installed that skidplate and realized the steering damper would not work in its standard relocated frame mount location. So he drilled two holes and moved the bracket back. Fixes the skidplate interference but now the damper interferes with a larger filter.

You have a HD drag link so ditch the skidplate. Its worthless and will bend the brackets when you hit something. Move the frame side damper mount back to its original relocated position. That should give you the clearance for your larger filter.

You might have an older RoverTracks drag link. Those had the tabs welded right to the rod.

No I don't work for Lucky8, though I bet Erik wishes I did.

Thumbs up

Did some research on the Rovertracks DL- looks right to me. Uses a D2 style damper- the remains of yellow paint on mine makes me suspect it's an OME... still feels good. All sorted out, put the K&N on as I had already tried installing it and couldn't return it. I'm running M1 5w30 for a bit of an engine clean after the headgasket job- it was pretty nasty in there. Will prolly swap back to 10w30 after 1000mi or so and put the Wix 51515 on.

Thanks again fishEH!
