Do NOT drive around on the street with the transfer case lever positioned to the left (CDL locked), whether it be hi or lo. CDL is only of use on surfaces with low traction... sand, mud, dirt, gravel.....

One comment I would to add for clarification. The video says to put the tranny in nuetral then select the desired position, then place the tranny in gear. It is true that the tranny MUST be in N for you to change from high to low or low to high.

However, if everything is working correctly, you should be able to shift right to left to engage the Diff Lock and left to right to disengage REGARDLESS of whether the tranny is in N or in gear. A properly function CDL allows you to Lock or Unlock on the fly as needed as long as the wheels are not spinning freely.

Just a clarification that all Discovery owners should be aware of.
