95 Disco, Intermittently dies & starts back up
IAC for sure. If it was the amp or coil it would need to cool off before the ritual repeated itself. The IAC closes when the ignition is turned off, when the ignition is turned to on the IAC steps out X number of steps (the ECU knows how many depending upon temp) to establish idle speed. With age the IAC loses it's ability to count, so when coming to a stop it runs the plunger all the way in (instead of back to the idle position) and shuts the engine off. Replace it and drive the truck. Also clean the T piece in the vent hose and the associated hoses and vac ports.
Might want to pull a compression test. It may be oil leaking past the valve seals which are probably hard as a rock by now. First get the IAC sorted, second get the breather system sorted, then move forward from there.

Bad spark plug, I would replace them and check again. If you have not replaced the spark plug wires, now is the time. One Spark plug would cause erratic idle, but not stalling. As for the stalling, I would go for the IACV.
Good morning gentlemen, update of the idle...
Replaced the IACV (with the AC Delco # 217- recommended by Leadfoot) this weekend and initially the idle went perfect. Started right up and idled between 500-750. Drove around town, stop here and there at stop lights, etc. and she was doing lovely.... However.... The random reeving and 'stalling' out at stops returned. I have yet to replace the TPS... Check engine light had come on prior to replace IACV (code 44), after replacing IACV no check engine light with a code of 02.
Thoughts???

You could also have an air leak between the MAF and the engine, allowing un-metered air to sneak in. Would not be noticed so much at speed, at idle it could be a larger percentage of the air coming thru. Cracked rubber hose, loose clamp, etc.
