Default 96 D1 ABS Master Cylinder Swap/Mod

I have a 96 D1 that has a problem with the brakes, I believe it is the ABS pump, the pedal goes hard at random times and I can hear and feel the ABS pump cycling. It happens more often when the vehicle is cold, once it has warmed up the brakes seem to be ok, although it has happened warm at times. I am not a fan of ABS and I would like to know if it's possible to replace the master cylinder with a pre-ABS version from a 90-92 Range Rover and eliminate the ABS system completely. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks

The master cylinder is not the problem, the problem is the ABS pump.
Pull the ABS pump fuse from the under hood fuse box, problem solved.

Like Spike said, the ABS Modulator is whacked out. Pull the fuse, then pull the bulb for the idiot light. I actually removed the ABS Modulator entirely.
