I've read countless threads and can't find anything to help. I purchased the vehicle and drove it an hour back home. It's a standard key, didn't come with a fob. When I got home I tried locking the doors by pushing down the door lock manually. They all went down and shot right back up. I tried again and shut the door..they still all came back up..now this time when I opened the door the alarm went off so I tried to crank, of course no luck. My first Land Rover so didn't know it wouldn't start. I stuck my key into the door and it doesn't do anything. It doesn't unlock or lock the door. Now again the alarm is going off so I pop the hood and rip the battery cable off seeing how I live in an Apartment and it was way late into the night. Reconnected the next morning and instant alarm which is normal. The red light blinks and stays on the second I open the door. I talked to my local dealership and they weren't much help..I'm desperate. I have no other vehicle and I can't even drive my "new" car now..I can't do the code method since the driver door lock does nothing with the key..I will leave it unlocked forever if I can just get passed this. Please help.
