Wow no offense to anyone elese on here but this is one of the most helpful post I've read. Thank you for the pictures. I'm currently running 20w-50 castrol oil. I know its heavy but next oil change I plan on switching to rotella 15w-40. Great job on rebuilding that engine. If I had access to a hoist and stand I would do that. But in the mean time I guess I'm just going to have to do the lifters and call it a day. I see what you mean about wear though. From whatv can tell my engine seems to be dirty but nothing seems to be worn down. I'm hoping the same is true about the lifters.
