'99 Disco fuel pump rebuild
Been having issues with the engine not running right. Loss of power, refusal to go above a idle, ect. It even lost power a couple times on the highway (70+ MPH). That was a experience. Got a fuel pressure tester and found it had 27PSI when it should of been 34 to 36PSI. There is no way I'm paying $400 or more for a new pump. Found a rebuild kit on British Parts of Utah site. $150 plus another $16 for the new pump seal. Should be here in a few days. I need to know what size of fittings are on the fuel lines and if a standard quick disconnect tool kit will suffice.
Also, I will be replacing the spark plugs, crankshaft position sensor, idle air control valve, air filter, and vehicle speed sensor while cleaning the MAF with some CRC spray.
Ive read the threads concerning high idle. Seems it either cannot be fixed OR it can with a new or reprogrammed ECU. Going to look into that as well. I may come back and post pictures of the pump rebuild as I couldnt find any.
