Just so people know this is why a regular brake fluid flush is so important.
Brake fluid will cause sludge inside the ABS modulator.

I dont because I dont have ABS, but any off road driving school will tell you that you need it.
I can see where it would come in handy, but I am not sold on the "benefits" of ABS or traction control anyway.

Yes, you should immediately give yourself a bitch-slap for not even bothering to figure out what is wrong with it before you start removing things. What would you say your current ratio of off road driving to on road driving is, realistically? High enough to justify removing an essential over the road safety feature? You gonna smash your headlights with a hammer when the bulbs go? Seems to me you could make do most nights with moonlight after all.

Didn't I see somewhere in your posts that you are only 16? Well, I guess I knew everything when I was 16 too.

Just do me a favor and let me know when you are driving in the northeast so I can get my family off the road.

Best of luck (really!)

The kid did nothing wrong, he was just listening to the advise of everyone else. The kid is pumped on owning a Rover and being only 16, my Disco was my first car so I know how he feels. So before you go off on only him why don't you exchange words with everyone else who has removed their ABS also? And what about the people who drive vehicles manufactured before ABS existed?

Also, didn't you read the multiple posts about the ABS malfunctioning in these vehicles? There were multiple people on here with first hand accounts, and a link to another crap load of posts. I personally have had my ABS malfunction, hitting the brakes and getting the ABS ratchet noise with no reduction in speed. I personally have not removed my ABS yet but I am going to next time it snows, and Im going to see what way works better in a slick parking lot, because right now the ABS sucks in the snow compared to any other vehicle on the road. If i were you I would keep my family away from Discos with ABS.

SCREW ABS...ABS is for dumb people who do not care how to drive..ABS is designed for dumb people in mind as a band aid for not knowing how to properly drive a car. DO NOT BASH HIM FOR VALID CONCERN. FAILING ABS WILL KILL YOU IN ANY CAR....not just a disco

Its just like the stupid idiotic transfer case solenoid lockout...its design so that dumb people who go "lets see what happens if I put it in 4lo going 70mph"...and when that solenoid fails on say when your in neutral on a trail and you cant get it in 4lo or 4hi..your fauked..and it cost 180 bucks to replace..or you can just yank it out..save yourself some kudos towards something else and LEARN not to mess with your transfer case above 5mph

How do you pull the solenoid out? Has it been discussed before? I'll do a search but I'm interested, I don't wanna be stuck on the trail over something stupid like that.
