Default AC Switch

Hello

I was able to source a new climate control module...but I only need to replace the AC switch. I removed the ***** and pulled the front face off. It is possible to replace the AC switch without having to removing almost everything to remove the module? I can tug on the switch and it moves about 1/2 inch but stops. Is the cord at the back long enough to pull all the way out the front??

Possible yes. But the risk of making matters worse by prying on a old plastic piece to gain access is not worth it. Be methodical and the center section is not terribly difficult to remove and replace.

Thanks.. But you basically have to remove everything in the dash to get access to the screws. I feel I would do as much damage trying to pry stuff like the clock and the CC /Fog light assemblies not to mention pulling out my aftermarket radio...

I wont do it ...but it's tempting to just clip the 4 plastic clips that holds the module to the dash mount.. I noticed that's what the breaker yard did to get it out..

Has anybody just hardwired another switch directly to the AC compressor to bypass these dodgy electrics..

The clock and fog light bank are the easiest part...by far. The fog light bank just pulls out. You might need a putty knife for the clock.

Before I continue with the removal of the climate control unit...The AC does not work and also the recirculating switches do not work. Could this actually be a relay that is causing this and not the actual switches themselves ??

Previous owner did it to my truck, just made matters worse. Just remove the center bezel and replace your switch, its pretty easy. Just be gentle with it, tends to be brittle
