Default AC Woes...

Well, of course last year it worked great.. this year it worked for a bit, and now the refrigerant is leaking out over night...

Added some UV Dye, and its still not obvious where the leak is coming from.. I suspect the condenser.

Anyone had luck with used condenser units? ... I hate buying parts that are "consumable" but the price of a new unit is not all that appealing

Did a quick search on the forums, didn't see many discussions about the condenser (other than fans.. )

no rear ac.. @drow, I got the UV pag oil, as well as the glasses/light. Nothing stood out as being the single source, all the lines looked ok (some oil looking crud on one of the lines by the condenser coil.. pass side, as well as up by where the hard line attaches on the mid-pass side)

I'm leanin towards the condenser being shot.. but I had expected to see some glowing proof.

For now I cleaned the oil off the lines, and will see if it re-appears

Yep yep and yep...

Unfortunately rain here today so more evidence may be lost.. will keep at it

99% sure its the condensor... when i first topped it off i could smell the refrigerant outside when i went to get gas, nothing inside tho.
