You could disconnect (cut) wire 1, 5, 9, and 16 on plug C225 on the alarm unit. That removes all the doors and hood, alarm would then just be monitoring itself (unless you have motion sensors). Lights would still work inside because MFU still in the circuit. Could be a crazy MFU, it is on back of fuse block and a PITA to get to.

Yep. This takes away input for alarm, but not door activation of locks. The MFU timer is still connected, and it controls the interior laamps.

Your alarm system will arm, but there is no sensor left to trigger it. Unlike home or business alarm systems, the Rover system does not supervise the individual door switches with an end of line resistor, etc. Just an open circuit to ground, short when open the door. You could meter these wires to ground with an ohm meter turned up on the highest scale, and may find a small short to ground. These can be something like the green corrosion gunk, or a skint wire. And they can be temperature sensitive, causing problems when weather changes.

Had the issue with the alarm too! Left it parked for a day or two and feared I had to get it towed. Charged it a bit and ripped out the blue microchip thing connected to the alarm under the hood bypassing the alarm system and starting the car! Worth a go before calling a tow truck!

Default Mine too, this is my hood lock

I tried the 1/5 the 1/3 on my 97 Disco SE and nothing works but only have a manual key. My doors and hood can be opened and red light on dash flashes with no alarm sound. Still can't start. The hood pics are after I had it at a local shop. They bent it so badly I am thinking it is the problem. If I buy new lock could that fix my problem? Read the posts nothing works. Thanks guys.
