My windows still have all the panes. It just seems like such an odd design.

What if you don't have rear air? Are the alpines the same? I never looked or noticed.

 

I'm in the opposite camp - I didn't know that rear A/C vehicles used the DS alpine window as part of the system.

AFAIK the alpines are the same - though, I'll be taking a closer look now at mine since I don't have rear A/C.

 

i'm sure the Alpines are the same...it's just that there is duct work in front of the drivers side Alpines that uses two (now i know) pieces of plexiglass to allow for visibility through the duct to the Alpine. Don't like it.

 

when i pulled mine it was just a single pane of curved glass, identical on driver and passenger side. no rear air on my truck. the windows and seals are actually pretty painless to remove/install.

the real pain was getting the panel that sourrounds them back in... good god lining up some of those clips below the window was a pain in the ***.

 

I feel your pain. I went through the same agony when I did the headliner. It took me forever to get those clips to hook up. Longest part of the install process, for sure.
