So I am going to be needing a new alternator pretty soon, the bearings are going out on mine.
I have a spare in the garage, it needs bearings too.
So, do I buy a new 120amp one off of e-bay for $150 or have mine rebuilt?
I am going to call around this week to see how much they want to rebuild mine.

ive got the RRC 120amp on mine, happy with it.
id suggest going to a local rebuilder who will more than likely use higher quality internals than whatever chinese "new" stuff theyre selling on ebay.
i think i paid $200 something.

Well I called 3 rebuilders today, got pricing as follows, $150 "or so" from one shop, but he knew exactly what brand the alt was when I told him the application.
Second guy said "$50-80 plus parts if I can get them"
Third guy said $175 if he can get one, I think he just swaps out yours with another that he buys from who knows where.
I have one more place to call tomorrow, I have to get the number from our mechanic, he uses these guys as well as several of my customers who are farm tractor repair places, this guy can also tweak the alt to your specs, I'm betting his price is the highest and depending on how high I will use him.
I would much rather use a local guy than e-bay although e-bay is admittedly easier.

A local rebuild by someone who specializes in automotive electrics is likely to get you the best unit. Especially if you tell them, "If it looks iffy, replace it."
I've used local rebuilders, when I had the option, for decades and never had any complaints.
