Alternator
I like that name, "Spouts Rover Shop, if we can't fix it it ain't worth fixin'"
JJay worked on his truck a few weeks ago, new calipers and Yota springs, all with a Sears bottle jack, PB Blaster and a crescent wrench in the parking lot of his apt complex.
These trucks really are a thing of genius and beauty.
I got TONS of text while he was working on it. lol

Speaking of genius and beauty I got to see a 63 215 Skylark motor today at the machine shop. Talk about seeing your baseball card idol in person! They had problems sourcing parts and mentioned looking through a few Rover sites. One rare motor, the 11:1 compression pistons are domed, not dished. Cool motor and not much different than the 3.9 I've been working on with a carb set up. I could bolt the 215's heads on it with four more bolts since the 3.9's block has the holes and they are threaded. Amazing.
That is very cool.
Domed pistons, very cool.
Hell man, you could also slap on the intake and carb from that thing and go.
Then a guy could really tune it, big cam, free flow exhaust and a 5-speed would really make the brick move.
I meant even have a hard time keeping up.

God I love these trucks, after work I was asked by a fellow driver if I could give him a jump start.
So with my a/c on, phone charging and stereo on I pulled up, opened the hood and hooked up the jumper cables.
A few min later his G6 fired up.
Even with my "bad" alt my Land Rover did what I asked her to do, just like she does each and every time.
God I love my truck.

My tach had come back to life for a while, then the Alternator began to howl lightly and the tach died again, so I threw in the one I got from the salvage yard.
Fired it up and tach sprung to life.
Now since my replacement was a "new rebuild" with no MM markings left on the outside but an identical looking unit, I will take my MM to the local old timers electrical shop nearby and see what they want to go thru it.
There are several rebuilders as you get closer to downtown Pittsburgh. Lots of older starter/altenator and driveline shops that all look very very slow. Sometimes the owners are sitting on the stoop watching the traffic go by waiting on the next paying customer to stop in.
No Advance Auto or any of that junk for me on this one.

I'm sure you and the proprieters will re-live the good old days..... Range Rover ridin' rebuilder near me gets under $100 to fix 'em. Don't let them think you have a snazzy roof rack, we know it is just your walker held on with bungee cords...
I just bought a brand new RRC 120A alt off of e-bay tonight.
Once that one is installed I am going to take mine to the re-builder and then throw it on the shelf for a later date.
Then when the new one dies I will swap and do that same again.
I was going to buy a used one but by time I bought it and paid for shipping (none local) for a few dollars more I could get the brand new one.
So thats what I did.

I was thinking about strapping a couple of 2 by 10 or 2 by 12's up there like I carried on my old Chevy Van when we used to take it to the beach.
