Alternator Alternatives

Alternator Alternatives
Is anyone aware of any alternators that are worth purchasing over the Magneti Marelli? Not talking about rebuilds, just new or remanufactured.
Here are the alternative brands I'm aware of:
Allmakes
Allmakes Prestolite
Denso
Davis Unified Ignition
Pure Energy
Beck/Arnley
Remy
Bosch
ACDelco
Some of those brands seem reputable for quality parts, but I still don't know.
I'm particularly interested in Davis Unified Ignition's Mr. Amp 130W alternator.

What is wrong with yours? Have you priced getting it rebuilt or was the case damaged?
I would check with Will Tillery and /or Paul Grant for a good used one. The local recycler here sells the ones they remove at a good price.
Even the remanufactured ones often do not hold up if they use the cheapest parts available. Hard to beat the MM.
The first one you linked to has a v belt pulley, you need a serp belt pulley, right?

You can swap the pulley's.
You cant ever go wrong with anything Denso.

As a follow up I ended up purchasing the Denso for $200 from BritishPacific. It seems to be the best balance between price and quality. The new Denso is practically identical to the Magneti Marelli in appearance and design. The old MM produced 13.91V at idle, and the new Denso 14.07, hardly a difference.
