I will say read the directions, some require you drain and flush the coolant out and just run it with water then re drain and re-ad coolant, some say add to coolant

so definitly READ THE DIRECTIONS

it should also give an indication on this type systembut I would guess drain the bottle some and add it there since it is more then just an expansion tank

Please don't use it. That is one of the products that guys frequently complain about. If it works, only a small quantity is used to "seal" the leak. That seal may not last a long time. The rest of the jug will sink by gravity to the lower spaces in your $700 copper radiator, where it will find scale and crud and it will block that as well. And perhaps the heater core as a bonus. So you will start overheating again. An OBDII scanner should be used to monitor the temp, your heat gauge is too "iffy".

I know I'll catch hell for this but I used k seal in my 98 for a very slow external hg coolant leak. Worked like a champ and runs at 179-185. That being said I would never pour a bottle of the thick crap in. The k seal is only 8 oz and I have had no I'll effects. I know the only way to fix a hg leak is to repair it but I simply don't have the time right now.

It really depends on the type of leak. Mine leaking externally is the reason I tried the k seal. If I was blowing coolant out the exhaust or something like that it would be a different situation.

The Kseal has the least quantity of material to attack other places in the system, and would be a better choice. If you have a "neva flushed" radiator, with calcium and scale, or Dexcool sludge mud, it can become more blocked with large quantities of "stopz leekz" circulating in the coolant. The fabulous Rover heat gauges won't show up the increased heat problem until you open the door at the Colonel to get "extra crispy".

Personally, i'd rather just let it leak and add coolant than put any of that sealer crap in there. You're making way more work for yourself when you have to clean everything out.

Loop out the heatercore before you put that in.
Otherwise youre in for a miserable time replacing that when you actually repair it correctly.
