OEM doesn't mean they are good.
One of the better pads on the market are Akebono Ceramic pads, they tend to last long, don't make dust or squeak and are pretty quick stopping.

I got the cheapo auto zone pads and have no complaints. But I don't drive very far.

Better in what respects? What are you trying to achieve?

Get some from your local parts store, they are literally the easiest pads in the world to change.

I will second the easy change; if they are not all corroded up you can do it without even removing the calipers. It literally took me fifteen minutes to change the fronts the first time I did it once i got it up on stands with the wheels off.

I also bought the expensive green EBC pads from AB, and notice not a stitch of difference from the stock lockheed pads.

These things just don't stop well, and you have to drive accordingly.

Thank you all guys. I will look into all of your replies. I am just looking for more stopping power. These discos are tanks.

For more stopping power, get semi-metallic. Those give great stopping power, but produce more noise, dust and wear the rotors quickly.

For less noise, dust, longer life rotors and a minimum OEM stopping power(usually better), get ceramics.

Upgrading the fronts to the D90 setup will help with the stopping. Larger pistons, larger pads, vented rotors.
