The collective wisdom of the internet saves me from doing something stupid - like removing the headliner to track down my wet carpet.... Gads of dirty, nasty water came out, pulled the nipples to give them a good blowdown and clean out the accumulated grit.
Out her in WA we are always pulling water out of the air, so this is a great tip.
Thanks Gents, Just got back from a long road trip to Huston and when we got back home, water was leaking from the passengers side on the interior. First thing I checked was the coolant and it was fine. Then I thought with the high humidity and a/c running for 400+ miles, something got clogged. Thanks again.
I know this is an old post, but wanted to say thanks to the members who gave good description of how to find and clear the drains. On a 3500 mile journey in my D1, I noticed the floorboard in the passenger side was soaked through and through. I figured it was the drains and I could fix them when I returned home, but today in San Antonio I parked on an uphill gradient and noticed that the a/c condensation was draining from the front of the rear wheel well. Then the wife complained of warm water on her feet and I knew I had to fix now. Great instruction and took a total of five minutes to clear. Will give a thorough cleaning back in Kansas.
Guys, just a quick thanks on the great info on these posts... just cleaned my nipples and drained at least half a litre of water from the clogged Drains...thanks for the help.
help please..water in passenger floor board for years.
You all have reported the great and easy fix when the drain is plugged
My issue is at the top.
Shop says someone jacked with the heater core and either put the wrong core in and/or cut out the box the condensation was to be collected in.
Have any of you guys replaced the heater core and do you have photos that can prove or disprove what my shop is saying?
They are telling me to just drill a hole in the floor and let the water drain but I want this project to be better than that.
Thanks
