A/C fans broken?

A/C fans broken?
So I have been having the problem of my Discovery heating up a bit with the a/c on, nothing insane but it does get warmer. I was reading about the A/C fans crapping out and I think my issue is in that area though I'm not 100% sure its the fans and not electrical. I can start the vehicle and kick on the a/c and I can see the fans spinning but they are going so slow that you can count the blades going by and they are dead silent. In my experience they spin fast and make a significant amount of noise when working correctly. I also thought that when a fan dies it just croaks and wont spin at all. What do you guys think?

Fans are toast. When you turn on key, and NOT crank engine, turn on AC. Fans should start. They should run fast enough to pull a plastic bag (like from grorcery store) to the front grille. There are write ups in the tech section, and I think there have been posts about the exact model Denso fan (it is crossed to something else). So your AC will be yuck at low speed or idle, if too hot it will make compressor hit limit switch PSI. Best if you use AC only when rolling until this fixed.
NOW FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT: Don't screw up polarity, or AC fans will subtract from main fan, you'll still overheat, but only at idle. My PO reversed it when he spliced in new ones from the salvage yard.
Read for 12 volts at fans just to be sure no wierd electrical issue, seems like you would have noticed one dead before the other.

Yep, see https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...-number-31894/ for the replacement motors, if doing that, mark fan blades "FRONT" and "BACK" so you keep air moving the same way.
The fact that fans are turning slowly by air flow shows their bearings are not siezed when cool, having both out at one time seems odd, may be electrical.
Also see two attached from the RAVE, plus there are more fuses that have some impact. The cable that feeds the fans snakes along the top edge of the body frame just in front of the battery.
On a D1, if AC is switched on, fans run, no matter what temp. You can do this with key on, truck not running. If temp gets above 212F, same fans turn on, even if AC off. If truck is turned off and fuel temp AND coolant temp are a certain high range, fans run for like 10 minutes.
On a D2, lots of other logic involved, sequence is different.

DiscoMike, I stand corrected
Pretty sure they were both dead when I bought it. I've only had it a few weeks and have been weeding through the other stupid stuff wrong with so I never gave the fans a look til now. I'm gonna unplug them both tomorrow and run 12v right to each and see what happens. If they are broken I'll grab fans from a donor, if they work I'll just rewire them.
