Default Can you buy a new MAF sensor for less than 2K.

I have a 1998 Discovery with 95,000 miles. I purchase this car 1 year ago in south Florida. The body and interior are in great shape. It needs a new MAF sensor. The OEM sensor is $2,000 at the dealership and $1500 through Rover North. I have purchase a used one and it didn’t last more than a few months. My mechanic said I could try and find another used one, but they do go bad with age.
Does anyone know where to purchase a good quality aftermarket MAF Sensor or know when I can send one of my cores to have it remanufactured?
I noticed the Discovery II MAF sensor is around $200, can this sensor be used in a Discovery I?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

No the DII MAF will not work on a DI.
Mine is the original one and my truck is older than yours and has more miles.
So I wonder why yours are going bad.
What is the truck doing that makes your guy think they are bad?

Cool

BEFORE you take the plunge...........buy a can of CRC MAF CLEANER. you can just spray it or actually drill out the rivets and really clean it....a lot of us have had some success with this...nothin' to lose

Junk yards, ebay etc. Cleaning them does wonders. I bought a new one from a company on ebay for 100 bucks with full warranty. Worked like a charm. I'll look around and see if I can find their name again.

That kind of money is crazy this item on ebay is the exact same part number that Napa lists as a re manufactured replacement. Forgot to mention that it only costs $129
