That is what they want locally for one. Could not find anything with Google.

Your only other option is a junk yard, but heated windshields are hard to come by since there is no generic option. I had my windshield (non-heated) replaced in early August and it was $900 parts and labor. I only had the deductible to pay.

I am having my windshield replaced on Friday and it will be $250 installed if the can reuse my molding, $475 with new molding. That's a D1 with a non-heated windshield.

Quote from Safelite auto glass (www.safelite.com) is $545 installed and an additional $185 if new molding is needed. I did a quote online for a 2000 D2 with heated windshield. Safelite is standard equipment on many new cars, including a lot of high end like Mercedes.

Is that AutoLite glass? I wanted the LR logo on my glass and didn't care what it cost since the ins. co. was covering it. They trashed the molding on the re-install (it was a little messed up already) but my ins co. paid for that after the fact too. I was pretty happy about that.

Rover heated glass has alway been in the $800 plus range plus gaskets and labor, Watch out what you are getting and forget a used window, it will have more broken wires in it then you can imagine.

Yeah, no used one for me. Mine is not broken, just so badly pitted that I have trouble seeing on the drive home with the sun right in my face. So, no insurance help for me. I guess it sounds like the price I got is a pretty good one. I currently have a regular windshield and want to convert to heated. Oh well, I guess I will bite the bullet and do it tomorrow.

If your windshield is so pitted that it is hard to see that is a unsafe condition and your insurance will replace it, they wont pay for the heated one...but they will replace the bad one.
Maybe you pay the difference.
