Default Carb Conversion

Any of you guys converted a D1 to carburetor? If so what all was involved? Was it hard to find a correct fuel pump? I know I'll need a 215 manifold, a carb, a camshaft with dissy drive and all that, but what other intricacies where involved? What kind of mileage do you get now?

Please don't ask why I would want to do such a crazy thing. I just would like to build a KISS Rover. Probably won't do it with my 96, but may just buy a 94 for this purpose. I would love to get rid of the miles of crappy wiring, stupid O2 sensors and the like. I'm a KISS kind of guy and I would love driving down the road in a Rover that has about 800 less things to go wrong. Plus it would be a much better vehicle for the Apocalypse!

I have not done it, but you will need a 3.9 front cover, the cam should already have the space for the dizzy sprocket so you just add the sprocket.
Wire your electric fuel pump to a toggle switch, I dont think there is any place to mount a mechanical fuel pump.
I think your MPG will be alittle less.
Make sure you have clearance between the hood and air cleaner for the carb, depending on the type of air cleaner you use.
From what I've heard you're looking at $1500.

Search for RRC carb conversion on google. A number of people have done it to them and it's basically the same engine. Some people have done it and still have it pass emissions testing.

I say if you're gonna do it, do it right and bolt a blower on there!
