It keeps popping P1316 within minutes but generally runs strong. Any ideas?

I have no idea what that code means Danny.
Do you have a description for that code?

According to google it's a 'misfire excessive emissions' fault, but doesn't say that it's a direct result of some failed component. Though if I had to guess I would bet on O2s... Can you deal front and rears to see what happens?
Since you've already cleaned the Maf and done the ignition tuneup.

Yeah, sounds like the path to go down.

Some threads mentioned a possible stuck exhaust valve. If that is the cause, what is best course of action and possible alternatives?

To find out if it is a sticky exhaust valve you will need to run a compression test.
Then if it turns out to be a sticky valve you have a couple of options.
Tear the engine apart and clean it.
Or use a high detergent motor oil and do a couple of "short" oil changes.
If it continues after that then I would add some MarvelMystery oil or Seafoam to the crank case and run the hell out of it to break up and remove the sludge.

Thanks Spike. Guess I will be doing a Rotella change soon. Maybe go ahead and run a flush type product first and then try the Rotella.

Not a bad idea, it is rare to loose compression for reasons other than a sticky valve.
The exhaust valves have carbon cutters on them, so they dont carbon up and stick, so it has to be on the oiled side.

Coil pack, cracks, leaks. Plug wires, fuel pressure, fuel filter, injectors, vacuum leaks, pressure regulator - pinch return line see if code disappears.

You have your work cut out.

I have the same issue right now on bank B after taking my truck for a little swim.. It's at the shop right now getting checked out. I gave up because of ****ty weather and not having a place to work on my truck..

Mine seems related to wet weather as well. Wish I had some spare coil packs.

It's running very strong 99 % of the time. It's getting frustrating I gotta get that UltraScan soon as well.
