CDL stuck at T-case
Hi guys,
I'm working on a new-to-me 96 Disco 1 (v8, auto) which has been sitting for years in a yard before i bought it.
Predictably, the center diff lock is seized, but unfortunately it is not just at the lever/linkages.
I pulled that whole box and gave it a fresh rebuild/regrease so the shift box works smoothly on its own.
after pulling all the linkages out, the arm on the case itself still wasn't budging (would loosen the nut if i tried turning counter clockwise)
so I unscrewed the indicator switch.... which came out easily enough but with a big bend in it - possibly an indication of something may have gone wrong in the past?
shift arm on the t-case is still completely not moving, so i did pull the 3 bolts to remove that arm.
Opening the hole in, I don't see anything glaringly wrong, but I'm not familiar with this t-case yet.
Anyone had a similar issue in the past? Is there anything more i can do without dropping the whole t-case out of the truck?
I am still working out the engine side of things but on the quick test drive i took before purchasing, the t-case did not make any bad noises and was able to shift into high/low (with friction, most likely from the shifter box as it was pretty sticky before i rebuilt it).
