Default Clean Rover = Happy Rover?

When I was snooping around under my disco, I noticed that my axles had tons of dirt and crap built up on them as well as other parts of the chassis. Would it be alright to power wash it all off or is there some fragile parts under there that is a no-no to touch? Something like the O2 sensors? I would really hate to break something trying to clean it.....

I would be very careful about using a pressure washer. One tip I saw on here and have used since then is to get the gallons of Mean Green at the Dollar Store. Use a spray bottle to apply it straight (full strength) all over the bottom. Let it sit a while. Hose it off, or drive thru water. Spray it on again. Repeat a few times. It will disssolve most of the built up grease and mud away.

The guy that posted the tip said he sprays his heavily before going trail riding to make it easier to clean afterwards.

I used the pressure spray at the car wash once under the hood, never again. The Discovery barely ran after that.

And some of the older rubber boots and seals will appreciate a gentle bath instead of 1500 psi.

hmmm. I take my rover to the car wash and hit the under side really good. I stand back 8 ft to.. Same with the body of the rover. I personally don't like having dirt on my under carriage and don't really care if there is dirt on the body... Just me. Oh but the hood and front HAS to be clean.
Thats,
Just me.

Um, why not just take it to the full service car wash and get the undercarriage wash too?
It does a really good job and its going to cost you a whole lot less than buying 50 gal of Simple Green at the Dollar Store.
