Default Cruising the coast collectors item d1

Ok people hate the d1. They trash them. Sellthem for parts and basically hall them over the way scales for 400 cash. My question is. They are becoming more and more rare. Is the discovery 1 ever going to be a collectors item because of how rare it is. O just think that one day someone is going to see my 50rh anniversary with every single accessory on it a's Wong worth something one day. Because I'm never getting rid of it

Old and rare and pristine will always command some sort of price. But it is more of a pleasure for you. Any 4WD in running condition will avoid the boneyard, no matter the brand. But keeping them running is another issue. My local boneyard added three D1's in one week, all in the 120 - 130,000 mile range. An owner that treats one of these without the respect it deserves won't keep it very long. Being a partz vulture I was able to snag parts to keep mine running.

I was wondering the same, I get a lot of compliments on my D1 from all sorts of people. I feel like they will just plateau in price for a long time. Like an old 3 series never really gets below $2000.

It will only be a collectors if it is original, not all modded up and has the original driveline, stereo, etc.
It can have a ton of miles on it but it has to be rebuildable.
So a hole in the block from a thrown rod is going to make it a boat anchor.
What makes the Series and Defender so collectible is because very few were sold in the NAS market.

Don'/t let the 50 Anniversary Badge go to your head. There were quite a few Disco's sold in the USA, very few unmolested ones around.

You may feel it is special, will you still feel the same when it presents you a large ticket item it needs to stay on the road?
