Default Cylinder Head Swap

Hi I am new to making posts on this forum, but i have been up and down these. I own a 1995 Land rover discovery 4.0 Gems. (Yes i know 95 didn't have a 4.0, well mine did and it is a true 4.0, but the manufactured badge say it was made in 1995.)

Anyways I wanted to know if I can use the cylinder heads from a 4.6 engine. I have some that are port matched and rebuilt already and wanted to know if I can use them.

Thank you everyone for any help that is give. i know this is a simple yes or no answer, but I read through the manuals and got nothing.

4.0/4.6 heads are interchangeable.
SAI ports need to be plugged on some models.

4.6 intake is different than the 4.0, so not sure that "port matching" is going to be of any benefit to you.

I believe some heads (maybe 3.9 or serp belt heads) have different holes in them for accessories.

Mr. Logan,

Thank you so much for the help. as for the port matching it is just the exhaust side to match the after market heads that a friend gave me. That is why it is just sitting around. I just wanted to know if I could even user them.
Your information is much appreciated and thank you so much for your time.
