D/S wheel well rust
Hello...
I'm new to the forums but have used the extensive search for items.. I purchased my Cortillion Green '95 Disco auto with 119K.. Runs phonominal but has some substantial wheel well rust in the left front and a few electrical gremlins.. It actually hampers me from driving it in the rain and or snow.. LOL.. I have searched through the RAVE manual and wanted to know where could I purchase the wheelwell and valance for the repair? I was going to take it to my local BS to view it and maybe just do patch repairs..
What do you guys think?
I noticed she started leaking in the rear from the wheel or caliper.. Will pull off the wheels and check.
Thanks,
Chris

On that rear leak, also check your rear axle breather, it has a banjo bolt with tube running off. When plugged with mud, like mine, the axle lube venting pushes out through the seals and mixes with brake dust -
Thanks for the Britpart suggestion but the shipping to the US is horrendous for a part like that. I might end up going to a LR dismanteler that I find in the tri state and buy it used. I'll wait to see what my B/S says to me first if the can tackle a time consuming job like that.
I'll check my caliper tommorow.. I had to locate some parts for my other car today so I ran short of time.

Wheel well rust is notorious on our Disco's. Try Roverlandparts they have some decent prices. Good luck.
PS: Also try Paul Grant here on the forums. I believe he makes a living parting out Rovers and he offers reasonable prices on parts. Send him a message or give him a call.

Thanks for the input....I've also spoken to a body shop that works on the older Land Rovers and they gave me a price since it's all labor and raw sheet metal patching work.. Just trying to weigh my options...

Seeing your signature line and your involvement with Merc's what brought you to the Rover experience?
I ask because just recently I've started looking into Merc's as my next hobby projects......early 90's V8's primarily.

LOL.. That's what I have,I own W126's (3 W126s: 560SEL, 560SEC, and a Euro 500SE AMG, 4 W124's: 3 500E's and E320TE, 3 190e's: 1 being a 2.3-16V and a W116: 280SEL 4.5 with swapped 4 speed. 11 total not including my 300SD which I replaced with the Disco 1.
As for the defection truck wise, I wanted something different and a G-wagen diesel was waaayy out of the range price wise.. Plus I needed a suitable candidtate to replace my rusting apart 300SD.. Being that my Disco runs well except for a now discovered brake leak?? I just need to repair this rusty wheel well. Also, it looks good to have my Disco tow my 190EVO
