Default D1 Alarm problems Scanner??

Tired of fighting with this alarm on my 99 D1. Thinking it is time to pick up a diagnostic tool to eliminate the problem.
I don't want to spend the money on one that won't reconfigure the alarm system, or spend too much on one that does everything but..

What should I be looking for? Hawkeye? Autel? nancom? any suggestions?

I'd look for an older Britpart Lynx system. It did a lot of stuff for D1's. Not sure about the hawkeye.

just a thought, the central door lock also doesn't work on this truck. maybe an issue with the drivers door lock that is causing the alarm issues and the central lock ??
Gonna try grounding the blue/ white wire tomorrow...

Do you have a 99 D1?
As far as I know, the D1 had been sold till 98, 99 should be D2 (different scanner...)

I had the same questions when I looked at this truck. Title says 1999, sticker under the hood says 1999, engine is a Jag 4.0 motor, dash is a D1, rear end is the D1 with the lower tail light locations. It is a 1999 D1 with all the equipment of a D1. From what I can tell, d1 was made into the 199 year, and so was the D2.

It's well documented in the Forum Sticky's but US D1 = 94-99 & US D2 = 99-04.

The D2 was launched in the US around mid 99. The legacy Lynx and the Lynx EVO are European only, iLand sold by Atlantic British is the US equivalent. Both systems are written by the same company that wrote the TestBook T4 software which is Omnitech. The iLand will do Lucas 10AS, Lucas GEMS and WABCO "C" ABS modulators..... as it should for $399.95. That's all models which is a BT dongle and an Android or Apple app found in either repository. They have a trimmed down model for single vehicle/model coverage but the D1 is already sparsely covered so I'd go pro..... just in case I bought another headache waiting to spawn.

I got my Lynx Legacy for free, and I like it (License for a D1 only currently). Programming D1 remotes is a total breeze, and so is resetting the adaptive settings. It reminds me of the VCM unit LR went to after the T4 (when the LR3/RRS first rolled out). I was responsible at LR Austin for converting all their T4 work stands (rolling cart with a Toughbook on it) to the VCM units. It was a pretty straight forward swap, but I think it didn't live very long before LR switched over to another system. Most of the techs at the time snagged the T4 handhelds lol.

I will say I tried to go into the D1 alarm programming section, and it locked up and made the green alarm box INOP. I haven't had the guts to try it again honestly, but for live monitoring, fault codes, adaptive settings, and remote programming it really can't be beat. AB used to sell them before the iLand unit, and I honestly haven't heard that great of stuff about the iLand unit. Buggy & Slow were things the owners said about them. I'm a T4, Nanocom, and Lynx Legacy guy. The Auto Logic setup is also excellent, but we're talking big big big $$$$$$$.

Good Information!
I don't need anything too advanced other than to disable or reset the alarm (that I know of so far) I have 2 remotes that don't do anything, they came with the truck. Not sure if they ever worked. New batteries did not help.
I do have an Autel scanner that can read live data but it doesn't do anything with the alarm (that I have found) Just don't want to spend $500 for a unit that won't help me out.

The Nanocom looks to be more for the D2 and up or am I wrong??

Yes the Nanocom is for D2 & up. What I meant to say was it's among the scantool/programmers that I have for LR's in general.

Lynx Legacy D1 (14CUX & GEMS) with the correct lead
Nanocom D2/P38/LR3
iCarsoft LR II (basic scantool for Can Bus LR's)

Those are the top 3 I use, I have access to a T4 and Auto Logic at my friends shop which I've used from time to time as well, but we found the Nanocom actually programmed D2 remotes quicker and easier.
