D1 Alarm problems Scanner??
so the 14CUX is the same as the GEMS? or did one replace the other? trying to get an understanding of the systems and if the Iland can do what I want. Looks like it will..
I read a post from someone who has to play with locking and unlocking doors until his truck will start.
Today I found the Blue wire and the yellow wires on the alarm box were taped. My guess is I am not the first one to have problems on this thing...
If I get it to disarm or reset, Maybe I need to fake out the door switch inputs so it will think they are permanently closed....

Just got an Email from Atlantic British about the iLand scanner resetting my alarm problem. it said
" This will be beyond the capabilities of the iLand unit. You most likely will have to take the vehicle to a land rover dealer"
guess I will be checking out the Nancom...

I need something to drive to work so I have been reluctant to swap parts from the one I drive every day.
From what I have seen, the Lynx is mostly for non North American vehicles. Not too many local shops in Red Wing, Mn plus I would have to have it towed as it won't run right now.
I did find a source for the 'green module' and that may be my next step, as I found the blue and a yellow wires that have been taped up from a previous owner. that could have fried the module I read...

The Lynx was sold by Atlantic British way before the iLand unit was even born. I use a Lynx on my D1's and it detects all the proper hardware specific to my D1. I only have the D1 license for it & zero issues pulling live data, resetting adaptive settings, or remote programming.
Go to their website & it will list everything it can and can't do.

thus my confusion. on page 11 of the PDF listing the capabilities, (on their website) the iLand specifically says all the alarm stuff (15 items) including plip programming, and friendly Passive (which I assume would deactivate the alarm) but yet their email said it wouldn't do it. Still searching for a used Legacy unit, but I have read the module is susceptible to movement. Thought I'd try giving a few taps and see if that changes anything. I think I will go ahead and get a modue on order and see what happens too.
Everything I have read and tested points to a bad security unit, so I ordered a replacement.

A link to a bunch of information on what the Black Box Faultmate -MSV2 can do. Looks like it could get me in a bunch of trouble playing with this!
